However, they are the two major, government-endorsed and ISO certified voluntary carbon standards within the UK, and both share similar administrative processes that help ensure a robust and auditable carbon credit scheme. Applications are assessed, and shortlisted proposals go into an Exploration Stage where they're developed further [for which participating applicants are paid].
