Summary of the contracting process

The North East London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT) has completed a procurement process for the extension of a contract regarding their Electronic Patient Record (EPR) System. This procurement falls under the industry category of IT services, specifically consulting, software development, Internet, and support, classified under CPV code 72000000. The procurement method utilised was a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The contract extension has been awarded to Access UK Ltd, effective from 1st November 2014, for the continued provision of support and software maintenance services. The procurement is situated at the CEME Centre - West Wing, Marsh Way, Rainham, RM13 8GQ, in the UKI52 region. This process aims to facilitate a multi-trust procurement in North East London scheduled for 2026/27. The key framework of the extended agreement remains aligned with the existing service level agreements and any updates provided by relevant change control notices.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in IT services and software maintenance, especially those with capabilities in healthcare IT solutions. Firms specialising in integration engines, real-time data availability systems, and various healthcare IT modules such as EPMA and remote patient monitoring may find this extension beneficial. Moreover, businesses experienced in collaborating with proprietary systems, specifically those accustomed to working within NHS frameworks, would be well-suited to compete in similar future procurements. Engaging in this tender can enhance a company's profile and establish them as a key player in the healthcare IT services sector, particularly as NELFT looks ahead towards expansive procurement plans in the coming years.
