Summary of the contracting process

Transport for London (TfL) has released a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to inform the market of a potential upcoming procurement for services related to the provision of tickets for London's key attractions, theatres, and sightseeing tours. This initial planning stage aims to gauge market interest and gather supplier capabilities, and does not constitute an official start of the procurement process. If the procurement proceeds, a formal contract notice will be published in mid-November 2024. The service will involve selling tickets through TfL's five visitor centres located at Heathrow, King's Cross & St Pancras, Liverpool Street, Piccadilly Circus, and Victoria stations. The deadline for registration of interest is Friday, 11th October 2024.

This potential procurement offers significant business growth opportunities, particularly for companies specialising in travel agency services, tourist assistance, and retail trade services. Businesses with robust capabilities in providing and managing ticket sales for high-traffic tourist locations will find this opportunity particularly appealing. TfL seeks up to three vendors to partner with, making it an excellent competitive landscape for both established firms and new entrants aiming to expand their market presence in London's vibrant tourism industry. Interested suppliers are invited to express their interest and engage with TfL through a structured process, which will include surveys and potential bilateral meetings.

Notice Title

Provision of tickets for London's key attractions and other activities via the TfL visitor centres

Notice Description

The purpose of this Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to alert potential suppliers to an opportunity for future services for providing tickets to London's main visitor attractions, theatres, and sightseeing tours. The tickets will be sold by TfL staff via TfL's five visitor centres as detailed below. It is a market awareness exercise to share information on a potential procurement, to engage with the market on the scope and approach and to enable TfL to determine the detailed design of the procurement and commercial process. The purpose is to test the market appetite, generate market interest, and to gain a better understanding of the capability and capacity of suppliers. This activity is focusing on the market as a whole, rather than the merits of individual suppliers. It includes no element of supplier selection or bid evaluation. There is no commitment of any kind inferred by either party.
