Summary of the contracting process

The City & County of Swansea is undertaking a procurement process to establish a framework agreement for reactive maintenance works across various trades including plastering, bricklaying, roofing, and carpentry. This construction-related tender is categorized under "Construction work" as per CPV code 45000000 and is specific to the locations within the City & County of Swansea, United Kingdom. As of the latest update on 31st October 2024, the procurement is in the active tender stage with a closing period for submissions by 2nd December 2024. Conducted via an open procedure, the framework allows bids on up to four lots with a maximum contract period of 720 days, plus an optional 12-month renewal period.

This tender presents a significant business opportunity, especially for SMEs, as reflected by the interest shown in previous procurement stages with multiple active contracts already in place with contractors like CARDO (WALES & WEST) LIMITED and QDL Contractors Ltd. Businesses specializing in construction trades such as carpentry, plastering, roofing, or related works would find this framework particularly beneficial. The ability to bid for multiple lots and engage in regional construction work could help expand their business scope and access public sector work, fostering growth and expanding operational footprints. The estimated expenditure across lots is substantial, supporting ongoing business development and offering a platform for long-term service provision.
