Southwark Council - Framework for nursery, primary and secondary school food service
Notice Description
Southwark Council intends to undertake a procurement exercise to implement a catering services framework for nursery, primary and secondary schools within the London Borough of Southwark. The aims of the framework include: *Continued improvement of nutritional quality and consistency of school meals across Southwark *Tackling disadvantage and reducing inequalities *Enhancing social value through job creation for local people, payment of London Living Wage (LLW) and supporting the local economy *Realising the opportunities for meeting the Council's social value, food security, environmental sustainability and climate emergency agenda. Within Southwark, there are currently 4 nursery schools, 74 primary schools (including 3 special schools) and 25 secondary schools (including 5 special schools): *The value of the school meals market in Southwark is estimated at around PS8.3m (primary) and PS5.3m (secondary) annually *Currently, most school outsourced contracts are for a single school, rather than a group, each with different contract terms *Most contracts are currently two to three years in duration, not all schools will require a contract at the same time The maximum framework term will be 4 years, this includes the initial contract term and the option to extend. Estimated potential sales value of the framework is PS4m over the 4 years. Southwark Council will be conducting this process via Jaggaer. Suppliers will need to ensure that they have up to date logins via https://education.app.jaggaer.com/web/login.html. The Jaggaer project reference is project_9559. Please note that the DfE's Get help buying for schools' service is assisting Southwark Council with the publishing of the associated contract notices and procurement documentation. As a result, in the e-sourcing system Jaggaer this project will show via DfE's published opportunities. Information on lots and award criteria will be available when the tender is published.
