Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board commissioned inspection, servicing and maintenance of oil- and gas-fired boilers and gas appliances. The requirement covers boiler services, residential landlord gas appliances, commercial catering gas appliances and Rational catering ovens, including emergency call-outs and out-of-hours work. Lots 7–9, West boiler, residential and catering services, went to Evans Maintenance (£74,790.06) and AP Mitchell (£63,205.72; £54,264.34). Lot 10, Rational ovens, went to Keeling Catering Engineers Ltd for £22,650. Across each lot, technical quality counted for 40% and commercial price for 60%; economic and technical selection criteria applied.

This award shows recurring demand from the Health Board for planned gas safety inspections and maintenance across boilers, landlord gas appliances and commercial catering equipment, with emergency response and out-of-hours cover forming part of the service schedules. The work is split by geography and equipment type, so a supplier can be competitive through strong local coverage in an individual service area as well as through wider operational reach. Credible competitors need the technical capability to service oil- and gas-fired plant and catering appliances, dependable capacity for scheduled work and call-outs, and the commercial systems to deliver reliably across multiple sites. The evaluation placed greater weight on price than technical quality, while still assigning a substantial share to technical performance. Small and medium-sized suppliers competed successfully, including for separate regional and specialist equipment lots.
