Summary of the contracting process

Leidos Supply Limited, through its Defence Clothing Team, sought suppliers for on-water clothing and associated equipment for the UK Ministry of Defence. The requirement covers four product areas: on-water suits, heated jackets, marine safety helmets and balaclavas. The opportunity suits manufacturers and specialist distributors of military, marine and protective clothing and equipment, including smaller businesses, as each lot was identified as suitable for SMEs. Relevant suppliers would need capability across one or more of the four product areas: technical on-water suits, electrically heated jackets, marine safety helmets or balaclavas. The framework structure could suit businesses able to support recurring Ministry of Defence supply requirements across the UK, although the procurement stated that framework participation would not guarantee any business. Competition was based on staged compliance, technical quality and price. Suppliers would therefore need to demonstrate that their products and delivery approach meet the required qualification and technical standards, then submit commercially competitive pricing for the relevant lot or lots.

Team Leidos are proud to be delivering the logistics commodities and services transformation (LCS(T)) Delivery partner contracts (LCS (T)/0001 dated 16.4.2015) on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) (the 'Prime Contract'). Delivery of other parts of the LCS(T) contract are delivered by Leidos Europe Ltd (LEL) and other partners (together 'Team Leidos'). This requirement is subject to the Public Procurement Regulations and respective advertising action. The Defence Clothing Team, which forms part of Leidos Supply Ltd. is considering the potential requirement for the The Supply of On Water Clothing and Equipment on behalf of the UK MoD. The total estimated value for this Framework Agreement will be between PS30000000 and PS74000000, with a total length of 5 Years. In addition, please note that as a framework agreement there is no guarantee of business.
