Summary of the contracting process

The public procurement process initiated by City Building (Glasgow) LLP focuses on the comprehensive provision and support of vehicle fleet services with an on-site managed service. The contracting opportunity, titled "CBG242 - Vehicle Fleet Provision and Support Services," is classified under the vehicle-fleet-support services industry category. This procurement is centred in Glasgow, specifically based at CBG's complex at 350 Darnick Street and encompasses the Central Belt of Scotland. The procurement has reached the 'award' stage as of January 2026, with Enterprise Rent-A-Car UK Ltd being awarded the contract. This contract, which was originally tendered in mid-2025, is projected to last for five years with options for two one-year extensions, potentially culminating in a contract value ranging from GBP 35M to GBP 49M. The procurement method employed was an open procedure, offering equal opportunity for businesses to submit tenders.

This contract presents significant growth potential, especially for businesses involved in vehicle rental, maintenance, and fleet management services. Enterprises that can manage a large and fluctuating vehicle fleet—including a range of commercial and small electric vehicles—stand to benefit. The contract requires flexibility in vehicle supply and management, hinting at opportunities for firms with robust logistics and service delivery capabilities. Given the considerable emphasis on quality and price, with criteria weighted at 30% and 70% respectively, companies that can offer competitive pricing while maintaining high service standards will find this an advantageous venture. Additionally, the requirement for new vehicles and compliance with stringent environmental standards implies opportunities for businesses dealing in innovative, sustainable transportation solutions.
