Summary of the contracting process

Staffordshire County Council is currently at the tender stage for a procurement process titled the "Framework Agreement for the provision of Responsive Property Maintenance and Minor Works". This procurement falls under the category of building installation and maintenance work, including various lots such as building works, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and drainage. The tender invites interested parties to propose bids for work to be conducted across eight administrative areas within Staffordshire. Key dates include the end of the tender period on 20th July 2026 with submissions to be completed via the Proactis e-tendering system before this deadline. The contract is intended to start on 5th October 2026 and can be extended until 2030.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses involved in building maintenance and minor construction works. The open procedure and the division of work into multiple lots make it accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs). With the maximum contract value reaching £9 million, companies with expertise in responsive property maintenance, particularly those with accreditations such as Constructionline Gold or equivalent, are well-positioned to compete. This framework allows for both direct awards and further competition, providing flexibility in securing contracts, which can facilitate business growth through sustained work with local government entities.
