Summary of the contracting process

MAG AIRPORT LIMITED is undertaking a procurement process to establish a framework agreement for Electronic Flight Progress Strips (EFPS) via an Integrated Controller Working Position (ICWP). This procurement targets the airports of Manchester, Stansted, and East Midlands, with potential extension to any future airport acquisitions by MAG. The procurement method is selective, featuring a competitive flexible procedure. As of 14th April 2026, the procurement is at the award stage, with the standstill period ending on 23rd April 2026 and the contract expected to start on 27th April 2026. The industry category involves flight control and air traffic control software development services, primarily delivered within the UK.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in software development, specifically in flight control and air traffic systems. The framework agreement potentially spans up to 15 years, providing opportunities for long-term business growth through maintenance, support, and product upgrades. Suppliers with experience in creating sophisticated software solutions and integrating complex system architectures would be well-suited to compete, especially those capable of efficiently merging data for improved air traffic control operations. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, with the competitive procedure offering a level playing field for diverse business entities to showcase their capabilities.
