Summary of the contracting process

NHS England is in the planning stage of procuring Primary Care Support Services for Medical Records, focusing on records administration and movement, collection, and archive storage. This procurement is guided by the Procurement Act 2023 and involves pre-market engagement activities, including a Request for Information (RFI) and supplier sessions. Suppliers interested in the project are invited to submit a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) by 6th July 2026. The primary location for this project is the United Kingdom, under the services category, with the tender status currently marked as planned. The procurement process is open for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a contract period starting on 1st May 2027, extending through 31st August 2035, with potential renewal options.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in records management, collection agency services, archive services, and document management. The gross value of the procurement is estimated at £232,405,200, making it an attractive prospect for organisations capable of delivering services at scale. Companies already functioning in the document management software and information systems domain can offer innovative solutions aligned with NHS England's objectives, presenting a lucrative chance to establish a long-term relationship with a central government public authority. Given the scope of services required, businesses providing comprehensive primary care support services are particularly well-suited to compete in this tender.
