Summary of the contracting process

The Communities & Housing Investment Consortium Ltd (CHIC) has completed the procurement process for the CHIC Lifts & Mobility Aids Framework 2025-29. This framework, which spans a four-year period, involves the supply, installation, replacement, servicing, and maintenance of both lifting equipment and mobility aids covering the entire United Kingdom. It includes two lots: one for passenger lifts and another for various mobility aids such as stairlifts and patient hoists. The open procedure procurement method, adhering to the UK Procurement Act 2023, concluded with awards announced on 26 November 2025, and contracts signed on 5 December 2025. The total estimated value across these contracts reaches £500 million, with services commencing on 8 December 2025 and concluding on 7 December 2029.

This framework presents an excellent opportunity for businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the lift installation and maintenance sectors to expand their operations. The contracts involve significant work in areas requiring expertise in lift systems and mobility aids installation, thus catering to firms specialising in these categories. Opportunities are not restricted to established suppliers; rather, the framework's open access to CHIC's wide range of members—comprising social housing providers, local authorities, NHS, and other public entities—ensures a broad competitive field. Companies offering innovative and efficient solutions in lift and mobility aids deployment will find the framework advantageous for growth and establishing a long-term relationship with public sector organisations.
