Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government is leading a planned procurement process under the title "Cladding Remediation - Supplier Event," primarily focused on construction project management services within the services category. This initiative aligns with the Housing (Cladding Remediation) (Scotland) Act 2024 and aims to assess and remediate buildings with potentially unsafe cladding. The process is currently in the planning stage, with a significant focus on engaging relevant suppliers. To facilitate this, supplier events are scheduled for 24th July 2025 at Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, accommodating both morning and afternoon sessions for different supplier categories. Interested suppliers must express their interest by emailing the contact provided before the deadline of 22nd July 2025. The initiative is grounded in legal directive 32014L0024 under CELEX, ensuring adherence to the relevant European legal framework. Future notices are anticipated by 1st October 2025, indicating there will be further developments beyond the current preliminary stage.

This procurement process offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in cladding works, building and quantity surveying, fire engineering, and security services. Companies with experience in cladding and façade construction, project management, and fire alarm systems are particularly well-positioned to benefit from this initiative. Participating in the supplier events enables businesses to gain deeper insights into the project requirements, procurement timelines, and qualification criteria. Furthermore, these events provide a platform for businesses to showcase their capabilities and forge potential collaborations. With the backing of the Scottish Government and a focus on enhancing public safety, there is a robust opportunity for business growth and market expansion within the UK, particularly for firms capable of integrating subcontractors and material suppliers into their operations.
