Summary of the contracting process

The National Army Museum, based in London, has initiated an open tender process seeking a graphics contractor for their upcoming temporary exhibition 'Beyond Burma: Forgotten Armies'. This tender, under the procurement tag, is focused on printed matter and related products and is active as of 14th July 2025. The scope of the work includes manufacturing, printing, and installing various graphic elements in a 150-square-metre exhibition space. Key dates include the tender deadline on 17th July 2025 and the exhibition opening on 16th September 2025. The procurement process follows an open procedure with submissions exclusively in English, requiring electronic catalogues and prohibiting variant submissions.

This tender offers a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in graphic design services and printed materials, particularly those with experience in producing large-scale exhibition graphics. The estimated contract value of £12,000 suggests that the National Army Museum is looking for competitively priced yet high-quality services. This opportunity is ideal for companies familiar with the logistics of working on museum exhibitions and capable of delivering within tight timelines. This contract not only provides a chance to partner with a leading cultural institution but also to showcase specialised expertise in a high-profile project commemorating historical events.

Notice Information

Notice Title

Graphics Tender for Temporary Exhibition

Notice Description

The National Army Museum wishes to appoint a suitable, experienced graphics contractor to manufacture, print and install graphics for the National Army Museum's temporary exhibition, 'Beyond Burma: Forgotten Armies' which opens to the public on 16th September 2025 and closes 16th April 2026. The exhibition space is 150sq metres. The exhibition will commemorate the eightieth anniversary of the end of the Burma campaign. It will cover the Retreat from Burma in 1942, the resurgence and transformation of the British and Indian armies in India during 1943, as well as the effective campaigns against the Imperial Japanese during 1944-1945. In particular, it will also highlight the role of the Indian soldiers who continued to serve across Southeast Asia long after the end of the Second World War. The Burma campaign is often called the 'Forgotten War' and the Fourteenth Army nicknamed the 'Forgotten Army'. However, the really forgotten aspect of the war are the large numbers of Indian and African soldiers who fought in Burma and the exhibition will explore their contribution. Graphic elements include main text panels, sub-text panels, large scale wallpapers, fabric printing, object labels and facsimilies of some works on paper.
