Summary of the contracting process

Digital Health & Care Wales, a central government public authority operating under Welsh devolved regulations, is in the planning stage of a procurement process for the "DHCW Market Engagement RFI - Ambient Scribe Primary Care Solutions." This initiative focuses on Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) to enhance efficiencies in GP practices across the United Kingdom. The deadline for submitting responses to the Request for Information (RFI) questionnaire is set for 12th September 2025. The process is currently investigatory, with no procurement strategy solidified yet, but with a planned market engagement to gather insights on available solutions. Prospective dates for further communication and contract initiation have been tentatively scheduled for February 2026 and August 2026, respectively.

This market engagement represents a promising opportunity for businesses specialising in software packages, IT services, and particularly those that develop consulting and support for AVT solutions. Companies with expertise in delivering such technological solutions, which can enhance healthcare services and operational efficiency within GP practices, would be well-suited to engage with this tender. Participation can drive business growth through potential collaboration with NHS entities and add credibility through involvement with a significant public sector initiative. The informal information gathering via the RFI may serve as a gateway for future procurement opportunities, making it a strategic move for interested suppliers to engage early in the process.
