Summary of the contracting process

The City of Doncaster Council is inviting applications for its "Framework for the Provision of Housing Adaptations", aiming to deliver adaptations through the Disabled Facilities Grant. The framework process seeks contractors for nine specific lots, including minor adaptations, bathroom and kitchen renovations, and accessibility modifications. This opportunity, classified under construction work with a focus on repair and maintenance services, is particularly relevant for businesses located in the "UKE31" region of the United Kingdom. The procurement is currently in the tender stage, with an open and ongoing framework scheduled to receive applications until 23rd July 2026 at noon. The framework is governed by the Procurement Act 2023 and is set to run for eight years, with openings for new applications annually. Contractors wishing to participate in this open procedure must submit electronically via the specified portal.

Participation in this framework provides extensive opportunities for growth, allowing businesses to secure work across a variety of specialised construction and adaptation services. Ideal candidates are those with expertise in trades such as plumbing, electrical, and building maintenance. Additionally, small and medium enterprises are encouraged to apply, with the framework designed to ensure fair access to business through a "taxi rank" allocation system and the potential for mini-competitions. Businesses with a focus on innovative and quality results in housing adaptations will find this an ideal venture, as the framework emphasises a significant quality weighting in award criteria, ensuring that high standards are maintained across the board.
