Summary of the contracting process

Transport for Wales Rail Limited has completed a procurement process for the development of the "SQR System App," awarded to Advanced New Technology Ltd. The procurement falls under the services category with a focus on software package and information systems, specifically IT services such as consulting and software development. Located in Pontypridd, the buyer represents a sub-central government authority under Welsh devolved regulations. The process followed a direct procurement method below threshold without competition. The contract was signed on 6th October 2025, with an active status from 7th October 2025 to 6th October 2026, and it includes a potential one-year extension.

This tender offers a significant opportunity for businesses involved in IT services and software development, particularly those specialising in software package and information systems, to expand their scope of projects with public authority clients. Advanced New Technology Ltd, as a large-scale supplier, highlights the potential for larger firms with similar capabilities to engage in direct procurement processes. Companies with expertise in creating applications that enhance service quality and management systems would find this contract particularly relevant to their service offerings and growth strategies.

Notice Title

SQR System App

Notice Description

The Customer Operations Team has identified the requirement for a software that accurately reflect the results of the Service Quality Regime (SQR) audits and real time notifications to the action owners to rectify defects in the Time to Fix (TTF). The app will also flag 'jobs' that have passed the deadline for necessary follow up action. The Service Quality Regime (SQR) is critical to maintaining the condition of at station and on board assets with periodic inspections carried out, which audit the customer facing touchpoints across the network and onboard all our fleet. The Time to Fix (TTF) is then recorded and measured.
