Summary of the contracting process

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority is spearheading a procurement process for the "Connect to Work - Market Engagement" programme, currently in the planning stage. Intended to improve regional employment conditions, this initiative is part of the Government’s economic growth mission. A market engagement event is scheduled for 6 November 2025, to provide insights into the programme's objective of creating an inclusive labour market align with both national plans and local growth strategies. Key procurement details include a focus on the services category, with activities spanning across education, training, and employment services in regions UKH12 and UKH11. The total project value is set at £12,291,042, and it includes a contract period from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028, with potential extensions until 2030.

This tender presents growth opportunities particularly for organisations involved in education and training, career guidance, and related employment services. Companies specialising in personal development training or job search services would be well-positioned to benefit, as the programme requires collaboration with local health services and employers. Given the light touch regime of the procurement process, businesses that are adept at collaborative partnerships and have a keen understanding of regional employment challenges and workforce development will find a good fit. The procurement method will likely encourage innovative solutions and partnerships, thus broadening prospects for businesses aiming to establish a foothold in public sector contracts aligned with local development goals.
