Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process led by The Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the City of London concerns the "NPCC National Cybercrime Training Programme." This initiative, still in the tender stage as of early January 2026, targets the provision of technical training services for police officers and staff across the UK. The procurement method is selective, involving a competitive flexible procedure with pre-qualification and an invitation to tender. Important dates include the expression of interest deadline on 3rd February 2026, and the award period ending by 11th May 2026. The contract will commence on 1st June 2026 and may extend until 31st May 2029, depending on performance and central funding availability.

This tender opens significant business growth opportunities for firms specialising in technical training services, particularly those with experience in law enforcement and cybercrime. Companies that can align their offerings with industry standard qualification frameworks will find this contract especially attractive. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) may find this opportunity ideal due to the procurement’s suitability criteria emphasising SME involvement. The competitive flexible procedure allows potential bidders to demonstrate their expertise through technical and commercial assessments, making it an excellent prospect for companies capable of providing high-quality training solutions and associated support to achieve industry-recognised certifications.

Notice Description

The NPCC Cybercrime Team has developed a number of courses with a private contractor, where the NPCC Cybercrime Team owns the intellectual property rights of those course.
