UKHSA has awarded a direct award contract for the provision of access to the Web of Science Platform from Clarivate Analytics via Jisc Services Limited. The contract supports research and citation indexing services essential for UKHSA's scientific and academic work. The agreement runs approximately three years, starting on 25 November 2025 and ending on 30 September 2028, under a direct award procedure above threshold.
Procurement Information
Direct award is made under Schedule 5, Paragraph 5 of the Procurement Act 2023, as only Clarivate can provide access to the Web of Science platform due to exclusive intellectual property rights. UK access is available solely via Jisc under a sector-wide agreement confirmed by Clarivate. No reasonable alternative exists, and the platform is essential to meet UKHSA's statutory research and evidence-based analysis requirements.
