Summary of the contracting process

The North Yorkshire Council is planning a procurement process for the "280-NYC-RS Fleet and Workshop Management System," aimed at developing an integrated Fleet Management System. The procurement falls under the goods category with a focus on industry-specific software packages. The planning stage is currently underway, with a market engagement notice published on 21st November 2025, and the engagement milestone is scheduled for completion by 11th December 2025. The procurement process is taking place in the UKE2 region of the United Kingdom, and the total estimated contract value is approximately £200,000. The procurement process is anticipated to proceed into 2026, with a future notice date in March and the contract period potentially spanning from August 2026 to July 2029, with opportunities for renewal until 2033.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialised in developing and managing fleet management systems, particularly those that can offer industry-specific software packages. As this is a preliminary market engagement, it offers a chance for businesses to influence the scope and design of the prospective tender. SMEs and VCSEs are encouraged to participate, making it a suitable opportunity for smaller enterprises eager to expand their presence or enter the public sector market. By expressing interest and providing informative responses during this stage, businesses can position themselves favourably for the potential future tender opportunity with North Yorkshire Council.
