Summary of the contracting process

Ards and North Down Borough Council is initiating a preliminary market engagement exercise for its "Ride, Pedal and Motivate (RPM) Animation Project," part of the PEACEPLUS programme. This exercise is in the planning stage as of 23 January 2026 and aims to gather insights from potential suppliers to inform the final project specifications. Classified under the services category, this procurement process involves community and sport-related services. Interested suppliers can participate by completing a questionnaire, which must be submitted by 6 February 2026. The exercise is facilitated through eTendersNI, and while it doesn't guarantee advantage in future tender stages, it is crucial for shaping the project's requirements.

Participation in this preliminary market stage offers businesses the chance to align closely with the council's goals, potentially positioning them favourably for future opportunities. The project calls for experts in community action programmes and sporting services, making it ideal for SMEs with a strong local presence or those capable of forming collaborative partnerships. This early engagement outlines a two-year contract period starting on 31 July 2026, suggesting robust, long-term business growth potential for successful applicants. Companies looking to expand their portfolio in community and sport-related services will find this a notable opportunity to influence and potentially secure a significant contract.
