Notice Description

Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) awarded the contract for the delivery of high-quality generic training courses to support the continued professional development of Staff and Associate Specialist (SAS) doctors across Wales. The contract will include the delivery of programmes in key development areas such as conflict resolution, AI in medicine, active bystander training, leadership and management, advanced communication skills, medical ethics and law, making a business case, and wellbeing and self-compassion. These courses are intended to equip SAS doctors with the knowledge, competencies and professional skills required to support their career progression--particularly in working towards eligibility for the General Medical Council's Specialist Register and future consultant-level roles within NHS Wales.

Lot 1 - Conflict resolution

To equip doctors with the knowledge, communication skills, and professional behaviours needed to effectively prevent, manage, and resolve conflict in clinical practice, in order to enhance patient safety, teamwork, and quality of care

Lot 2 - AI in Medicine

To equip doctors with the knowledge, skills, and professional judgment needed to safely, ethically, and effectively use artificial intelligence in clinical practice to enhance patient care and decision-making.

Lot 3 - Being an active Bystander

To empower doctors with the confidence, skills, and professional responsibility to safely challenge inappropriate behaviour, support colleagues, and promote a culture of respect, psychological safety, and patient safety in healthcare settings
