Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for creating a bilingual GCSE History magazine is managed by Caerphilly County Borough Council on behalf of Adnodd. It is in the planning stage, with the procurement process set to commence in early March 2026. The council aims to support learners in Wales through this initiative by producing a digital magazine in both Welsh and English, aligning with the Curriculum for Wales and focusing on themes such as literacy, equity, anti-racism, and well-being. An upcoming information session is scheduled for 4th March 2026, with interested parties encouraged to participate. The contract, valued at £48,000, will span 12 months, starting from June 2026, with the possibility of extension for another year. This procurement falls under the industry category of newspapers, journals, periodicals, and related materials, with key publications planned for September and December 2026, and March 2027.

This tender represents a unique opportunity for businesses in publishing and digital content creation to collaborate on a project that addresses educational needs in Wales. Leveraging the Welsh devolved regulations, businesses specialising in language services, educational materials, and digital publication can benefit significantly from participating. The project’s emphasis on bilingualism and engagement with diverse stakeholders presents potential for small and medium enterprises to expand their capabilities and partnerships. With a focus on providing quality, relevant, and compelling educational resources, companies that have experience in producing accessible and innovative educational content would be particularly well-suited to compete in this tendering process.
