Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process initiated by Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council involves the organisation of a large-scale public cultural event titled "Giant Dreams," part of an ambitious UK-wide project inspired by Roald Dahl's storytelling. Focusing on cultural performance and entertainment services, the event will be held in Nuneaton, UK, during the contract period of 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2028, coinciding with the National Year of Reading 2026. This direct award procurement method has resulted in a partnership with Artichoke Trust to deliver the event's first phase from March to December 2026, with a key milestone for future signature scheduled on 1st April 2026.

The "Giant Dreams" project presents significant business growth opportunities for enterprises in the cultural event organisation and performance sectors. It is particularly well-suited for businesses specialising in large-scale artistic productions and community engagement through storytelling. The Council's initiative not only provides a test-bed for creative activities but establishes the region as a pivotal point in the UK-wide cultural narrative, making it ideal for companies eager to expand into public art projects and tap into nationwide creative opportunities. With a substantial contract value of £750,000, suppliers with experience in unique artistic performances are optimally positioned to leverage this project for further growth and innovation.
