Summary of the contracting process

Thames Water Utilities Limited is inviting tenders for a procurement process titled "Fire Alarm Installation and Associated Works." This project falls under the utilities industry category and aims to upgrade fire alarm systems across its operational sites. The procurement process is at the tender stage, with key dates including a deadline for submitting expressions of interest to access the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PSQ) set for 12th May 2026 at 10 am GMT. The contract is intended to be awarded to up to four suppliers through a competitive flexible procedure. The procurement covers regions UKJ and UKI in the United Kingdom, with suppliers required to standardise equipment to Advance panels. The framework agreement will consider both direct awards and competitive bidding, depending on the value of the works.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in designing, supplying, installing, and maintaining fire alarm systems, particularly those familiar with systems such as Advance, Protec, Gent, and Kentec. With a contract value potentially reaching £30 million gross, businesses specialising in fire alarm systems can find significant growth opportunities. Enterprises with experience in large-scale installations, adept at navigating selective procurement methods, and capable of submitting competitive proposals are particularly well-suited. Given the competitive nature and stringent technical and commercial criteria, businesses that can offer compelling technical solutions and favourable pricing will have a chance to secure a position within the awarded framework agreements.
