Summary of the contracting process

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees has initiated an open procurement process for a "Vehicle Accident Damage Repairs Framework" in the region of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. The tender seeks suppliers to provide repair services for the Council's diverse fleet of around 600 vehicles, which includes various types of light commercial vehicles and specialist vehicles under 7.5 tonnes. This procurement is at the tender stage, with a closing date for submissions on 7th July 2026. The framework is designed as a multi-supplier arrangement, inviting suppliers to contribute through a reopening competition method. The initial contract period is set from 14th September 2026 to 13th September 2029, with a potential extension for an additional year. With an estimated annual spend of approximately £250,000, this framework agreement is geared towards maintaining the operational readiness of Kirklees Council's service fleet.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in vehicle repair and maintenance services, particularly those capable of providing a complete end-to-end service, including recovery, inspection, high-standard repairs, and warranty management. Companies with the capability to meet Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards for repairs, and those familiar with regulatory compliance will be highly competitive. The framework supports small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as suitable participants. It offers a valuable chance for these businesses to secure ongoing work through individual service call-offs, fostering potential growth by aligning with a public authority’s sustainable operational goals. Suppliers will compete based on price and timescale, with the most advantageous tender securing each call-off contract.
