Summary of the contracting process

Worcestershire County Council is conducting preliminary market engagement for the "Worcestershire Integrated Community Equipment Service," under the planning stage of the procurement process. This initiative falls within the category of health and social work services with related aspects of storage, warehousing, and non-residential property services. The contract is anticipated to run from January 2027 to December 2032. The market engagement focuses on understanding current community equipment service models, especially those involving property and premises arrangements. Established service providers have been invited to submit their views by 14th May 2026, offering insights into premises preferences and responsibilities. The procurement process is initiated as a tender, seeking to refine the service specification through stakeholder feedback.

This process presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in community equipment services and property management within the health and social care sector. Providers with capabilities in offering storage, leasing, or renting non-residential properties, and those experienced in the lifecycle management of community equipment, are well-suited to compete. Participating in this engagement allows businesses to influence service specifications and positioning for future tenders, potentially fostering partnerships and growth in the public sector service delivery. Engaging with the council now can lay the groundwork for securing long-term contracts and expanding service portfolios, particularly within Worcestershire.
