Provision of Lift Maintenance, Servicing and Repair work for North Region
Procurement Information
This interim arrangement must be executed immediately to ensure there is no interruption to statutory lift servicing, maintenance, and responsive repair provision following the early termination of the incumbent contract. Due to the time required to undertake a compliant procurement exercise, it is not possible to complete a full competitive process within the available timeframe. Any delay in putting an interim contract in place would result in a gap in service provision, which cannot be accommodated. Entering into this contract is therefore unavoidable to enable Southern Housing to continue meeting its statutory and regulatory obligations, including: * Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 - duty to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and contractors * Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) - requirement for regular inspection, maintenance, and safe operation of lifting equipment * Regulatory standards for social housing, including building safety and consumer standards requiring the safe management of building systems Failure to maintain uninterrupted service provision would expose residents to immediate safety risks and place the organisation in breach of its legal obligations
