Summary of the contracting process

The Consumer Council for Northern Ireland buys economic and household expenditure research and analysis to continue its Northern Ireland Household Expenditure Tracker. The service uses economic data and nowcast modelling to estimate income, expenditure and discretionary income for average households across four income quartiles. Its quarterly publication measures household financial wellbeing, with particular attention to lower-income and vulnerable households. The supplier provides relevant consumer data, analysis and reporting to support the tracker’s continued publication. This is a research and consultancy service, covering economic and social research as well as market research. It is a quarterly publication establishing a measure for the financialwellbeing of Northern Ireland households. The publicationparticularly focuseson Northern Ireland's lowest earning, most vulnerable households. As a continuation of work from it current contract , the Consumer Council has awarded to Centre for Economics and Business Research to provide NI consumer data and the relevant analysis and reporting that will allow us to continue to publish a quarterly household expenditure tracker.
