Summary of the contracting process

The Home Office is seeking to engage the market for the maintenance of the Sea Eagle Camera System onboard Border Security Command vessels. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with a focus on acquiring parts, consumables, servicing, and maintenance of existing systems equipped with daylight and night thermal imaging cameras. The engagement exercise aims to explore supplier capabilities in the UK, with responses due by 22nd July 2026. The procurement process will be facilitated via the Home Office eSourcing Portal, and further detail will be provided at the tender stage. The contract is expected to commence on 31st August 2026 and conclude on 30th August 2031, with services required across various UK locations within the security and marine patrol sectors.

This procurement represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in security cameras, marine patrol vessels, and vessel repair services to secure long-term contracts with a central government authority. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with expertise in these areas are particularly well-suited, given the suitability for SMEs noted in the planning stages. Businesses capable of delivering reliable repair services, supplying necessary components, and providing OEM warranties on maintenance works will find this tender an excellent growth opportunity. The requirement to attend various UK locations to carry out timely repairs and maintenance ensures that locally based suppliers with mobile service capabilities stand to benefit significantly from this contract.
