Summary of the contracting process

Senedd Cymru / Welsh Parliament is currently in the planning stage for a public procurement process involving media monitoring, social media monitoring, press management, and social media listening software. The procurement, listed under the services category and covering communication software packages, database systems, and business services, is located in Cardiff, UK. Interested suppliers are invited to participate in a pre-market engagement exercise, with a due date for responses scheduled for 31st July 2026. This engagement aims to gather insights to influence the Commission's procurement strategy and its consideration of splitting the requirements into five lots, ensuring a well-informed approach. The formal procurement will follow after this planning phase, potentially starting in February 2027.

This initiative presents an excellent opportunity for businesses, particularly SMEs and VCSEs, specialising in communications software, database management, and broader business services sectors, to establish partnerships with a public authority. Suppliers with expertise in monitoring media and social platforms, distributing press content, and handling security alerts will find this tender particularly advantageous. As participation in the current engagement exercise supports the shaping of the procurement strategy without formal commitments, it provides an opportunity to influence requirements to align with their service offerings, thereby fostering potential business growth upon the formal tender's release.
