Summary of the contracting process

The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is presently at the planning update stage of a procurement process for the "Control Centre IMS" project, aimed at improving incident management in the Bus Control Centre network. This procurement, categorised under IT services and transportation equipment, invites market engagement to shape the project's final requirements. The authority seeks insights on market capabilities and innovative approaches, with a gross budget of £1,200,000. Key dates include a milestone on 17th August 2026 for suppliers to provide written feedback and book online sessions for 25th August 2026. Situated in Leeds, UK, this initiative underscores substantial opportunities for businesses aligned with software programming, consultancy, and database management services.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, software development, and transport-related technologies, as it looks to procure a comprehensive incident management system. Firms that offer innovative solutions and can navigate complex IT integration within public transport systems will find this contract particularly attractive. The extension now allows smaller enterprises to seek involvement, beneficial for SMEs aiming to expand their footprint in government contracts. Businesses able to deliver on a large scale and capable of devising efficient integration models will be well-positioned in this competitive procurement landscape.
