Summary of the contracting process

Devon County Council, a public authority in sub-central government, has reopened the Devon and Somerset Standing List of Approved Contractors (SLoAC) for 2026. This tender is in the Construction and Repair and Maintenance Services categories, with a contract value of up to £72,000,000, and covers various geographic sub-areas in Devon and Somerset, UK. The procurement is at the tender stage, with an open procurement method allowing competition below the threshold. Interested parties must submit their tenders electronically by 7th September 2026, with enquiries closing on 26th August 2026. The approved contractors list, which was updated in 2025, facilitates streamlined procurement for maintenance, improvement, and building works, offering projects ranging from £5,000 to £250,000 and for works up to £2,000,000.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for construction and maintenance companies seeking to enhance their business by participating in the Devon and Somerset region's public sector projects. The SLoAC provides pre-qualified contractors access to various public sector procurement opportunities, which is ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs). Participating contractors will need to meet specified standards and maintain accreditation, fostering consistent business growth through repeated opportunities associated with public sector projects in the region. This process allows for potential extensions up to 2033, offering a long-term business relationship with Devon County Council and other public bodies.
