Summary of the contracting process

The Security Industry Authority (SIA), a central government public authority in the United Kingdom, is initiating a procurement process seeking providers for a Lone Worker Application for mobile devices. This requirement is intended to support the health, safety, and wellbeing of staff operating in potentially vulnerable situations. As of 3 August 2026, this contract is at the planning stage, with expressions of interest due by 31 August 2026. Business opportunities abound for enterprises specialising in mobile application development, particularly those with expertise in safety and security solutions. Companies capable of providing 24/7 manned monitoring services, GPS tracking, and emergency response solutions will be well-positioned to compete. The procurement method favours innovative solutions that can operate on iOS, Android, or Windows platforms and are compatible with environments where connectivity may be limited. With an emphasis on service desk support and incident management, this tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses looking to expand their footprint in the public safety technology sector, providing ample room for growth and collaboration.
