Summary of the contracting process

Powys Teaching Health Board, supported by NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership–Procurement Services, procured hospital and related assessment services. The appointed provider supplies suitably qualified and experienced assessors to complete Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards assessments, including Best Interests, Mental Capacity and Mental Health assessments, with associated statutory Forms 3, 3a and 4. Work is commissioned individually by the Powys Teaching Health Board DoLS Administration Team. Assessments are primarily undertaken in person at hospitals across Powys and, where required, at neighbouring NHS trusts for which the Board acts as Supervisory Body.
