Cardiff Community Housing Association needs a specialist contractor to maintain and repair lifting and mobility equipment installed in tenants’ homes and communal areas. The service covers straight and curved stairlifts, through-floor platform lifts, ceiling track hoists, associated lifting equipment and accessories, and other similar assets. The contractor will provide scheduled servicing and planned preventative maintenance, responsive repairs and emergency breakdown attendance. The work is repair and maintenance services, with activity delivered across the UK. The successful supplier will work with CCHA’s Property Services, Asset Management, Compliance and Housing Management teams to keep equipment safe, compliant and operational.

The procurement has reached the tender stage: CCHA invited offers through a below-threshold open competition. This is a single-lot services contract. The enquiry deadline was 19 August 2026 at midnight, and the bid deadline is 2 September 2026 at midnight. The contract is scheduled to run from 1 December 2026 to 1 December 2028, with two possible one-year extensions, allowing the term to run to 1 December 2030. Its estimated value is £50,000 excluding VAT and £60,000 including VAT. Bids must be submitted electronically through the specified procurement portal; email and post are not accepted. Evaluation is based on technical and quality responses weighted at 70%, and the commercial response weighted at 30%.

This opportunity suits a specialist lifting-equipment maintenance contractor able to service, repair and attend emergencies for stairlifts, platform lifts, ceiling track hoists and related equipment. Suppliers need the practical expertise and operational capacity to manage a changing asset base as equipment is installed, replaced, adapted or removed. Relevant experience of planned maintenance, responsive repairs, fault diagnosis, safety and compliance will be important, alongside the ability to coordinate effectively with housing, property, asset management and compliance teams. The work regularly takes place in occupied homes, so bidders should be able to provide a reliable, customer-focused service for vulnerable residents and people with disabilities or long-term health conditions. The requirement is identified as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community or social enterprises.
