Summary of the contracting process

Beyond Housing Limited, a sub-central government public authority located in Scarborough, UK, is in the planning stage of a procurement process for "Active Fire Services 2027." The procurement is targeted at servicing and maintaining fire safety equipment across their property portfolio in North-East England, which includes 15,000 properties in areas like Redcar, Scarborough, and Whitby. The process involves market engagement currently scheduled to end on 26th August 2026, with a preliminary tender issue date anticipated on 21st September 2026, leading to a contract start on 1st June 2027. The engagement process invites participants to complete a questionnaire to provide insights that could shape the contract and its compliance requirements.

The forthcoming tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in fire safety services. Companies experienced in managing services like emergency lights, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems, specifically within occupied residential and community infrastructures, will find this tender suitable. Beyond Housing seeks a main contractor who can offer 100% compliance with all servicing elements and provide added value in compliance management. Businesses with the capability to manage DRAX fire-monitoring systems, a well-established digital portal for documentation, and a proven track record of operating as Principal Contractors under CDM regulations will be well-positioned to compete in this open tender procedure. The project’s substantial scope and the five-year contract term potential make it an attractive prospect for firms looking to expand their market presence in the public sector.
