Summary of the contracting process

London Ambulance Service NHS Trust intends to procure a clinically led quality assurance and performance monitoring platform for its ambulance service. The service will support clinical audit, individual clinician feedback, service evaluation and continuous improvement. It is a software and related service requirement covering medical software, software supply and clinical information system functionality. The work is intended for delivery in the United Kingdom. Suppliers should expect to provide a platform that can support clinical governance and performance monitoring, while fitting the Trust’s operational environment. The requirement may involve cloud services, system integration and implementation support, alongside the core clinical audit tool.

This procurement is at the planning stage and is not yet an invitation to tender. The Trust is conducting pre-market engagement through a Request for Information, with responses expected by 1 September 2026. The buyer expects a future notice on 7 September 2026. The planned procurement is a single lot, with an estimated value of £195,000 excluding VAT, or £234,000 including VAT. The anticipated contract period is 1 October 2026 to 1 October 2029, with a possible extension to 1 August 2031 and renewal arrangements indicated. The Trust is seeking views on available solutions, cloud and integration options, implementation, affordability, commercial approaches and potential routes to market.

This early engagement will suit suppliers of clinical audit, healthcare quality assurance, clinical information or performance monitoring software, particularly businesses able to combine a clinically informed product with implementation and integration capability. The buyer is comparing potential solutions with its current position, so suppliers should be ready to explain practical benefits, limitations, implementation requirements and the effect of change. Experience of supporting clinical audit, clinician feedback, service evaluation and continuous improvement will be relevant. Cloud delivery and integration options are specifically being explored, as are affordability and commercial models. The single planned lot is identified as suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community or social enterprises.
