Summary of the contracting process

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) has initiated the planning phase of a procurement process under the title "RFI - Privacy and AI Governance Platform". This tender seeks a mature platform to enhance privacy and responsible AI governance activities across the BBC Group. The procurement belongs to the IT services industry category, specifically targeting software packages and computer systems, with a focus on compliance and administrative solutions. The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, with a critical milestone date set for registering interest by 1st September 2026. The BBC is headquartered at Broadcasting House, Portland Place, London, UK, and the procurement activities are aligned with the operational regions within the United Kingdom.

This procurement opportunity presents significant growth potential for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those offering innovative software solutions that address privacy and AI governance frameworks. Companies involved in IT consulting, software development, and compliance package provision, especially those adept at supporting advanced governance activities like Data Protection and AI Risk Assessments, are ideally suited to engage with this opportunity. The tender is designed to be inclusive of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), creating a favourable landscape for a diverse array of businesses seeking to partner with a renowned organisation such as the BBC. Participating suppliers will have the chance to contribute to the BBC’s digital transformation efforts, establishing long-term collaboration and potentially shaping the organisation’s governance strategies.
