Summary of the contracting process

Public Services Delivery Scotland, acting for NHS Scotland, is procuring fertility medicines for NHS Scotland bodies and Integrated Joint Boards established under Scottish legislation. The requirement covers pharmaceutical products supplied across Scotland, for use by NHS organisations and participating public healthcare bodies. It is a goods procurement and will establish a framework for a range of fertility medicines. The requirement is divided between a single-supplier arrangement for each product line and an unranked multi-supplier arrangement for each product line. The framework is intended to support the ongoing supply and logistics of fertility medicines to the participating Scottish healthcare organisations. This opportunity suits pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers and specialist medicines suppliers able to provide the required fertility medicines and manage reliable distribution to NHS Scotland bodies. Suppliers must hold a current MHRA-approved UK Marketing Authorisation, using a PL, PLGB or PLPI number, for every medicine offered. The supplier and any subcontractors must hold BS EN ISO 9001 certification or an equivalent quality standard. Products must meet MHRA and National Patient Safety Agency guidance on packaging and labelling. Any medical devices and associated ancillary items must comply with the UK Medical Devices Regulations 2002, have an appropriate declaration of conformity and carry a valid CE, CE UKNI or UKCA mark before framework commencement. Bidders must also provide a climate change plan and agree to support community benefits, including reporting delivered or proposed outcomes in Scotland.
