Procurement Information
The decision for a direct award with Canon UK for print production equipment and software under a compliant framework, provides the most advantageous tender award for this procurement allowing the Council to retain two current devices and have a single provider provide the service elements of the contract across all five devices. The direct award will secure a robust, cost-effective contract that enables the Council's internal Printroom to continue meeting departmental printing needs, and provide value for money. This is also an opportunity to introduce innovative digital solutions, supporting Pillar 6 of the Council Plan. Key deliverables from the procurement are: Modern, reliable equipment with high-performance printers that meet current and future departmental needs, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly models. Cost-Effectiveness: Competitive pricing and savings compared to existing arrangements or outsourcing. Improved Functionality and Innovation: Advanced features (secure printing, digital workflows). Integration with document management, print queues, print imposition and cloud solutions. Operational Efficiency: Faster print speeds and reduced downtime. Online print finishing, automatic job tickets. Monitoring and reporting tools and printer analytics. Sustainability Goals: Reduced energy consumption and waste. Support for recycled materials and eco-friendly practices. Futureproofing: Scalable solutions to adapt to changing demand and commercialisation opportunities. Vendor support and maintenance agreements. Social Value: The supplier to generate positive outcomes for society, the economy, and the environment.
