Summary of the contracting process

Cambridgeshire County Council, through Cambridgeshire Music, is seeking musical groups, ensembles, solo performers and workshop providers to deliver live performances or practical music workshops for primary- and/or secondary-aged pupils. The programme aims to give children engaging musical experiences that broaden their understanding and enjoyment of music. Provision must include inclusive opportunities for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Any musical genre is welcome, including classical, folk, pop, rock, jazz, world, electronic, choral and culturally specific traditions. Services are for schools in East and South Cambridgeshire, with performances or workshops delivered during school hours.

The buyer invited suppliers to submit quotations through an open competition. The enquiry deadline was 16 November 2026 and the quotation deadline was 30 November 2026; both were set for 23:59 UTC. The contract delivery period is 14 June to 9 July 2027. The maximum value is £5,000 gross, and lower quotations are welcome; suppliers are asked to include staffing, travel, accommodation, equipment and other delivery costs in their price. There is one lot. Quotations are assessed on suitability for the age groups, inclusion and accessibility (including SEND experience), experience in education, ability to deliver in the required area and period, and value for money.

This opportunity suits local artists, performers and workshop providers able to travel to schools across East and South Cambridgeshire and work within school hours. Suppliers need to offer 50–60-minute sessions suitable for primary and/or secondary pupils, and demonstrate experience working in schools or other educational settings. The requirement values inclusive provision and experience supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. Providers must hold public liability insurance and have relevant safeguarding checks. A broad range of musical styles is welcome, so the competition is suitable for individual artists as well as ensembles and groups. Quotations should describe the proposed act or workshop and include all delivery-related costs; suppliers should also set out any technical or space requirements.
