Notice Information
Notice Title
Development of an LTI plugin and Distribution Partnership Agreement
Notice Description
With UfI Voctech funding, Pembrokeshire College has developed an app called 'Audactive' that combines voice-to-text and text-to-voice in the same document. This means users can listen to a document, pause and then add dictated notes to the same document. Teachers can add question prompts to any document that Audactive can read out and then wait for the learners to dictate their answers. Audactive also supports multiple choice questions, in which case, it waits for learners to 'say' which answer they believe is the correct answer. Audactive can either score this and feedback or simply record learners' answers for the teacher to assess separately. There are many other voice-assisted technologies including those built into MS Word, however they do not allow users to jump back-and-for between both modes and are not designed specifically as a learning technology. There is more information about Audactive in the appendix.Teachers can use Audactive for worksheets; learners can use it for dictating notes into their course materials. Audactive can help busy learners, including those with additional needs like dyslexia, to study and help teachers to mark learners' work more quickly. Two large trials of Audactive has been conducted across UK Colleges and demonstrated its value, provided feedback on improving the functionality and usability of the app. We have also identified that Audactive is a useful tool in supporting language and ESOL teachers by mixing the languages that are read and the languages that are dictated.Audactive has the functionality to export its resources to SCORM objects for importing into VLEs. However, this provides only limited functionality and output data to VLEs. We have decided that an LTI plugin will enhance Audactive's usefulness in educational institutions by providing VLEs will additional functionality and data visibility. We are expanding our network of partners to market and promote Audactive and wish to tie the development of the LTI plugin with a requirement for the successful contractor to become partners and agents promoting Audactive. We are particularly interested in organisations that are in a position to promote the use of Audactive to educational institutions across Australasia.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=120750.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
