Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is seeking a supplier for the provision of gift cards or vouchers as part of their Loyalty Award Scheme to reward the long-term service of staff at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. This scheme falls under the health services category and is aimed at locations within Cardiff and the Vale UHB region. The procurement method being utilised is an open procedure. The tendering process, which started on 26 April 2022, included a submission deadline of 1 June 2022. The scope involves providing gift cards/vouchers usable both online and in physical stores without restrictions, rewarding staff employed for 20 or 30 years with vouchers valued at £100 and £150 respectively.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in gift card and voucher services, offering a chance to collaborate with the health sector and support the employee retention efforts of an esteemed institution. Companies with robust electronic submission systems and capabilities to cater to both online and in-store redemption would be particularly well-suited to compete. Moreover, as the NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership acts as a central purchasing body, successful engagement could potentially lead to further procurement opportunities within the broader NHS framework.
