This equipment naturally needs maintenance to ensure all kit falls within regulations. Maintenance is also critical to maximise efficiency lifespan of the equipment. These power tools can only be maintained by De Soutter, but they do not fall under any of our maintenance frameworks. Therefore, we are direct awarding the maintenance of these power tools to De Soutter.

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board recently made a capital purchase of 10 sets of power tools and attachments for the University Hospital Wales, and 24 sets of power tools and attachments for University Hospital Llandough, from De Soutter. This equipment naturally needs maintenance to ensure all kit falls within regulations. Maintenance is also critical to maximise efficiency lifespan of the equipment. These power tools can only be maintained by De Soutter, but they do not fall under any of our maintenance frameworks. Therefore, we are direct awarding the maintenance of these power tools to De Soutter for a period of 5 years, commencing from 21st March 2026. To ensure contractual arrangements remain in place to maintain the continuity of this critical service, the Authority intends to use the negotiated procedure without prior publication in accordance with the use of Public Contract Regulations 2015.
