Summary of the contracting process

The City & County of Swansea has completed the contracting process for a "Framework Agreement for Reactive Maintenance Works," focusing on trades such as plastering, bricklaying, roofing, and carpentry across its domestic properties. This procurement process was executed using an open procedure aimed at securing services within the general public services category. The framework involves multiple suppliers and is divided into four lots, with each focusing on different areas of maintenance works in the Swansea region (UKL18). The tendering stage concluded on 2nd December 2024, and contracts were awarded by 22nd May 2025, marking the transition from the tender to award phase.

This tender presents significant business growth potential, especially for companies skilled in construction and maintenance services. With a framework predicted to have a substantial financial spend of approximately £6.7 million, the opportunity is ripe for large enterprises and SMEs, such as those involved in carpentry and roofing, to secure contracts across the four lots. The open and transparent procurement process ensures that qualified businesses can compete on quality and price, with a strategic focus on fostering regional development through partnerships that encourage community benefits.
