Summary of the contracting process

The University of Glasgow is seeking to establish a collaborative framework agreement for the provision of building operations, specifically focusing on glazing repairs and maintenance work. This procurement falls under the services category and is part of the education industry. The contract is located in Glasgow, with the original procurement process intended to run from January 2016 until December 2018, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months. It utilises an open procurement method, allowing for a wider range of bidders to participate, although the contract has been marked as cancelled due to an unsuccessful status. Key stakeholders include the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Caledonian University, and the estimated annual spend for the collective initiative was anticipated to be around £175,000.

This tender presents a tangible opportunity for businesses specialised in construction and maintenance service provision, particularly those with expertise in glazing and window repairs. Companies capable of delivering on reactive and planned maintenance, as well as those equipped to handle multiple types of glazing and height access systems, would find the framework ideal for growth. This collaborative approach may also benefit businesses looking to expand their client base by engaging with several leading educational institutions in the Glasgow area. Interested parties are encouraged to prepare their submissions ahead of any deadlines, considering the cancellation status of the contract indicates a need for a responsive and capable contractor in future opportunities.
