Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) is currently focusing on the procurement of Facilities Management Services, with the tender process having begun on 16th May 2016 and expected to close on 17th June 2016. This initiative covers a wide range of services necessary for the upkeep of various court establishments located throughout Scotland, including both historic and modern buildings. The procurement method adopted is a selective "restricted procedure," and the estimated contract value falls between GBP 60 million to GBP 100 million, depending on the annual budget and any contract extensions that may arise.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in facilities management, particularly those with experience in handling diverse properties, including heritage sites. Companies that can demonstrate robust quality and environmental management plans will be well-suited to respond, especially if they have a track record of subcontracting to small and medium-sized enterprises, aligning with SCTS's community benefit objectives. Contractors must prepare for a competitive environment, given the anticipated high-value nature of this contract, and will need to ensure their financial and technical capabilities are thoroughly documented.
