Notice Description

The Care and Repair Service is required primarily for the purpose of assisting people (60 plus) and/or people with a disability who either own their own home or are tenants with the private rented sector in Orkney. The service will assist with home improvements, alterations and repair which, as far as possible, enable clients of the service to remain within their own homes and communities. The key areas of the care and repair service will include : the provision of information and advice; assist with repair and maintenance work; assisting with disability adaptation work; small repairs service; home check and the contract management of competent sub-contractors.

The scope of the requirement is to provide a full care and repair service (Housing Scheme of Assistance) for assisting all citizens (within Orkney) who may need advice or assistance with home improvements, repairs or adaptations.. Economic operators may be exclued from this competion if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement(Scotland) Regulations 2016.
